Hello!
Trained as a photographer I have been working as an artist for over ten years and my work has been collected around the world.
Born in England I have lived in many places but am now settled in Tavira, where the sea and landscape is a major inspiration for my abstract paintings. Misplaced memories from Africa and beyond are never far away to aid my colourful and visceral approach.
Paintings either on canvas, board or paper may sometimes have an apparent realism created by an unexpected metaphor for the final abstract image. Often applying many layers of paint, then scratched or scraped off, the painting is an evolution of creativity and design that grows and changes to produce the finished work.
